Philippa Myers - Company Director

Born in London, Philippa grew up on the continent and left Europe at 17 to explore the world. In 1991 she arrived in Latin America and has never left. Instead of waiting for her son to grow up and become a pilot, so she could travel for free, she set up her own travel agency. This grew to be the 10th largest in the country within 3 years. During this time she has worked exclusively in the tourism industry also owning her own tour company and restaurant as well as the travel agency.

In the early days she was invited to organise many health/cultural related tours for well known tour operators in the UK. These tours were so successful that she has now branched off on her own and is focussing her passion and energy into creating unique trips which show off the exciting, beautiful and cultural alternatives to Mexico and Costa Rica.

Philippa is also a Consul Warden for the British Embassy.

Tanya Hoskins - Marketing Executive

A British born, Spanish speaking, marketeer with a strong love of travel and a passion for food. Tanya worked in the direct marketing industry in the UK for 8 years until she belatedly decided to follow her dream to travel. She undertook a 6 month escorted overland tour through North, Central and South America so she is no stranger to the intricacies of group travel. She fell in love with Central America and left England to make a new life here and thankfully has been able to put her marketing and organisational skills to good use at Mayan Tours & Travel.

James Sim - Tour Leader

A highly experienced, Spanish speaking, Canadian guide who first arrived in Guatemala as a traveller in 1995. He quickly gravitated towards guiding and first earned his stripes by taking groups up the massive volcanoes of the western highlands. Since then he has enjoyed taking numerous groups from around the world to all corners of Cuba and Latin America. With his extensive local knowledge, and great sense of humor, you can't fail to have the trip of a lifetime.
